Our Adventures
Wet & Wild Krabi Adventure
After years of spending time in the spectacular Krabi, Ao Nang and Railay Bay areas of southwestern Thailand, we’ve designed the ultimate ocean-based adventure. Get ready for six-days and five-nights of sun, fun, paddling, swimming, exploring, cooking, feasting and making the most of this incredible area. The price quoted is from the first day of the adventure in Bangkok until the end of our planned itinerary. This includes 70% of your meals, 5-nights of accommodation, airport transfers at Bangkok and Krabi, all transport, two internal airline tickets (from Bangkok to Krabi and back), all admissions, snacks, and at least Scott or Daniel as your primary adventure leader at all times. You will rarely need to dig into your pocket to pay for things on your Smiling Albino adventure. Prepare to be hosted! Day 1 Welcome to Paradise! We’ll board an early morning flight from Bangkok to Krabi and transfer to our charming home for the next five nights. Your extremely comfortable air-conditioned bungalow is surrounded by palm trees and backs onto limestone mountains - the perfect place to lay your head and relax. We’ll catch a bite to eat then board a longtail boat around the point to true paradise Railay Bay. You simply won’t believe your eyes when you see this beach. Limestone cliffs rise hundreds of feet straight from the sea, climbers dangle above and the only way here is by boat. Talk about exclusive! We’ll spend the rest of the day chillin’ out on the beach, tossing a Frisbee and then lead a two-hour sea kayaking jaunt along the limestone cliffs, through caves and inlets, and show you some of our favorite nooks and crannies. Cliff jumping may even be in the cards for those with the bravado. Tonight we’ll celebrate our arrival with an exclusive gourmet dinner at one of the area’s top restaurants. Our friend and proprietor, Ton from France, will treat us to a meal you won’t soon forget! Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 2 Rn’R & Paddling Time on your own is important during a great adventure vacation. This is your day to do just that and enjoy doing as little or much as you like. We’re of course willing to offer suggestions and help you best plan your day. Tonight, for those in the mood, we’ll lead a sundown paddle around a limestone island that towers hundreds of feet above the ocean. Get ready to be awestruck. After paddling, enjoy a relaxing dinner on your own, check out the ocean-side night market or come and tilt a few with us at the pub. Meals: B Day 3 Sea to Sky Get your Indiana Jones hat on and prepare for real adventure. Today we’ll kick things off with a short ride to Krabi’s famous Tiger Cave. A challenging climb up 1,237 (yes, 1,237!) stairs takes us to a temple on top of a limestone mountain where fabulous views of the area abound. A beautiful drive through dazzling rock formations takes us to a park that’s sure to charm your senses. We’ll wade up a freshwater stream, taking plenty of time to swim, try to spot animals and imagine ourselves to be tropical explorers. We’ll follow the stream back out of the jungle, enjoy a picnic lunch and head to a secluded river for the day’s main event. Using sea kayaks we’ll paddle along a salt-water river that’s lined with mangrove trees. Water from the ocean comes inland, creating an incredibly quiet area that’s perfect for spotting birds, monkeys and other animals. We’ll take in this special ecological area without leaving so much as a footprint. Tonight it’s off to one of our favorite Thai restaurants for a serious feast. Meals: B,L,D Day 4 Paddle Power and Bird’s Nests One-hour northwest of Ao Nang by longtail boat lays a group of islands known as the ‘Ko Hong’ group. Clustered in rather close proximity, more than a dozen islands offer a great environment for sea kayaking. We’ll tow our boats to the islands then enjoy a day beaching, snorkeling and paddling to stunning inlets. We’ll also visit some real life adventurers at ‘Paradise Island’. Roughly 10 people call this small island home and live in caves just off the beach. The reason the islands in this area are one of the best places in the world to collect special swallow’s nests, which are used to make Bird’s Nest Soup, an Asian delicacy. These daredevils use bamboo poles and ropes to climb limestone cliffs and claim these valuable little homes. After our day at sea we’ll return to Ao Nang by longtail boat and cut you lose to enjoy a night on your own. Meals: B,L Day 5 Where’s Your Wok? Food plays such an important role during all SA adventures we felt it was time to give you a shot at learning how to prepare some Thai favorites. We’ll learn from one of the area’s premier cooking teachers. She’ll start by teaching us about common ingredients used in Thai dishes, the secrets of making curry pastes and then put it all together to create various culinary delights. Once it’s all prepared to our instructor’s approval we’ll feast on our creations. To celebrate our last night in the area, we’ve got a special treat your very own private fireworks show. We’ve been perfecting our SA fireworks shows for years and have a great one planned. Let us buy you a drink, pick a spot on the beach and dazzle your senses. Someone call ‘Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous’! Meals: B,L,D Day 6 Hit the Beach This is it, your final day in paradise. The cords are cut and this is your day to run free and enjoy everything on offer. Scuba diving?, rock climbing?, you’re the boss! Make the most of your day and then come back to the resort for a shower before we hop on our Thai Airways flight back to Bangkok. This is the part of vacation we all dread; saying goodbye!
