Motocross Mania - 10 Days
This legendary 10-day, private adventure features insider ins and outs of Bangkok, an incredible visit to the ancient Thai capital of Ayutthaya, a healthy dose of life in the Kingdom’s northernmost province Chiang Rai perched upon Honda, 250cc, on-off-road motocross bikes, with all the details taken care of. Price includes everything from a limo airport pickup on Day 1 in Bangkok until the end of your planned itinerary with a limo back to the Bangkok International Airport on Day 10. The adventure includes meals as indicated (B,L,D), 9-nights of luxury accommodations, all transport, motorcycles, business class internal airline tickets, personalized Smiling Albino Adventure Kit, maps, mobile phone, all admissions, snacks, and the best western and Thai adventure leaders. Prepare to be hosted, truly taken care of and have the travel experience of your life! Day 1 – Welcome to Thailand!! Right from the start you’ll experience the Smiling Albino difference. We’ll be waiting when your plane touches down, brush off the airline peanut shells and welcome you to the ‘Land of Smiles’. We’ll escort you to your home away from home and introduce you to your surroundings. You’ll enjoy first-class accommodations in the City of Angels at the very ‘sabai’ (comfortable), and stylish Majestic Grande, where we’ll check you into their best room, the Grande Suite, fully equipped with jet tubs, plasma TVs, putting green, butler and more and more. Sit back, relax, enjoy a swim and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Day 2 - Free Day then out for Headlights (17:00) Spend the day visiting a tailor, strolling the city, enjoying a Thai massage then it’s out for your ‘One Night in Bangkok’. We’ll start with an incredible meal at one of the city’s best Thai restaurants followed by taking in Muay Thai boxing at the country’s premier stadium. We’ll then head to the roof of the 61st floor and visit ‘Vertigo’ for a couple of beverages while looking over the city. We’ll continue our night checking out quirky corners and perhaps snack on a well-seasoned local delicacy - fried grasshoppers! Finally, we’ll end things at legendary Patpong, where night markets collide with colorful characters. Meals: B,D
Day 3 - Bangkok Multi-transport Adventure This day is simply incredible! Today we’ll tick-off five must-see sites, while using all forms of urban transport (three-wheeled tuk-tuks, motorcycle taxis, rapid trains, boats and more) in a citywide blitz of temples, alleyways, rivers, canals and fine eats to give you a true appreciation of the ‘City of Angels’. Today you’ll see the Golden Mount, the stunning Grand Palace, Wat Po (reclining Buddha), Wat Arun and the urban-canals of Bangkok Noi, to name but a few of our stops. Not only can you tick Bangkok off your list, but you’ll do it in swinging style!
Day 4 - Ancient Ayutthaya Prior to its sacking by the Burmese in 1767, Ayutthaya was the crowning jewel of Siam. We’ll board a private shuttle for our short journey 90km north from Bangkok then use a boat and van to explore the ancient ruins and stone palaces that make up this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The best part is there are no ropes between you and the sites, affording an up close and personal look at Thailand’s most famous historic temples. After our day exploring, we’ll blast back to Bangkok in a private shuttle and catch an early evening flight to the country’s northernmost province, Chiang Rai. You’ll enjoy total comfort in business class aboard the Kingdom’s premier airline, Thai Airways. Upon arrival we’ll check into luxurious Thai villas at The Legend, located along the Mae Kok River, setting the ideal tone for the next four days. Enjoy the herbal spa, a traditional Thai massage or dip in your private swimming pool. We’ll spend the next two nights at this beautiful boutique riverside resort.
Biking: 20km (paved roads) Day 5 – Over the Hills and Far Away Today we’ll mount Honda, 250cc, on-off-road motorbikes for our first big day out in the country. We’ll head southwest to the Doi Chaang mountain range. Today we’ll ride a combination of sealed roads, dirt roads and dirt single-track. Highlights will include sipping gourmet coffee that is grown by Ahka hilltribe people atop Doi Chaang, some of the most stunning scenery you’ve ever seen and hanging on to your handlebars. Day 6 – To Chinatown Today it’s off to one of the Kingdom’s most stunning destinations – Doi Mae Salong. We’ll get there on our motorbikes via dirt roads, stopping en-route at an elephant camp so you can try your hand at riding your very own pachyderm. Nestled amongst terraced tea plantations, Doi Mae Salong was once opium country, but is now home to Thailand’s premier Oolong tea production and Chinese who fled China during the Cultural Revolution. We’ll blast up and over spectacular jungle-covered mountains and through several hilltribe villages. This area exudes a special, quiet energy that will leave you reflecting on your time here for years to come. Tonight you’ll stay at the charming Phu Chaisai Resort, in the heart of hilltribe country. Day 7 – Hilltribe Hiatus It’s back on road for a full-day of epic backcountry exploring. We wind up, down and around twisty mountain roads as the hills of Myanmar line the horizon. We’ll truly get ‘off the beaten path’ today, exploring ancient hilltribe footpaths and very remote places most foreigners never make it to. Have your cameras handy as spectacular scenes abound.
Riding: 100-150km (dirt trails, dirt roads, sealed roads)
Day 8 – Mekong Life This dazzling day takes us through a back entrance to Doi Tung Royal Villa for a morning coffee then we’ll continue up and over mountains along the Kingdom’s most thrilling road which literally straddles the Thai-Myanmar border. From there we’ll continue on to Mae Sai – the northernmost point in Thailand, to the Golden Triangle, then follow a very quiet country rode along the Mekong River to Chiang Khong where we’ll enjoy a well-deserved bite to eat. A late afternoon ride will take us through the country and back to Chiang Rai city where we’ll board our evening flight back to bustling Bangkok. You’ll fly in comfort enjoying business class service with Thai Airways. Upon arrival we’ll transfer in a limo to the Majestic Grande where you’ll check back into your luxury suite. Day 9 – Your Final Day in The Big Mango Pick up your tailoring, get those last minute souvenirs for friends and enjoy your final day in the Kingdom. “This was the ideal, much needed holiday for all of us.
