Q: Who really needs that ‘Kipistky, Minnesota 1984 Bowling Team’ sweatshirt anyway?
A: Thousands of people living in mountainous hilltribe villages in northern Thailand during the cool season (Nov-Feb).

During the cools months it can be quite challenging for rural persons in provinces like Chiang Rai, Nan, Phrae, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. Temperatures at higher elevations often approach and occasionally dip below 0° C (32° F), creating a difficult, and sometimes lethal, struggle to stay adequately warm in a not-so-air-tight bamboo hut.

Smiling Albino’s unique position of being in regular contact with foreigners and travelers passing through the Kingdom enables us to collect clothing and funds to assist such communities. On occasion we also donate items such as children’s toys and books to lower opportunity areas around the country. A big ‘thanks’ to our many clients and friends who’ve helped assist the wonderful people in areas we explore and enjoy so much. Every little bit helps!
