Community
The volunteer is responsible for the following costs:
- Flight to Thailand (approx $1,100 - $1,400 Cdn)
- Accommodations in Bangkok or elsewhere before and after the project (we can suggest some places to stay if you require)
- Transportation to and from Mae Salong, Chiang Rai province (Smiling Albino will escort you on the trip to Mae Salong from Bangkok, the cost of the trip is itemized below)
- Food and transportation costs during the two week stay in Mae Salong (the 2nd chart below itemizes rough costs).
Ideally you would be in Mae Salong for 15 days/nights, arriving on a Friday morning, meeting the school and teachers, spend the first weekend getting comfortable in the town, and then two weeks of teaching/living. Accommodations for you will be paid for until the Friday night/Saturday morning two weeks later. You are of course welcome to stay longer at your own expense if you wish.

We are quite confident that you can spend two weeks in Mae Salong needing to only spend between $300 - $500 Cdn.
Funding
SA has raised funding from the Bangkok South Rotary Club which pays for the following:
- Supplies and photocopies for the lesson plans, worksheets and activities.
- Prizes for the students and gifts for the school to use during the ‘English Fun Days’ project. Any left over items remain at the school for them to use.
- Accommodations for the volunteers for 15 nights.
