Born on the rock and raised in Prince Edward Island, Darren developed an early affinity for beaches, travel and big fun. After settling in Calgary as an adult he spent several years mastering the art of the perfect pour, bartending at many city landmarks, one of which he first met SA co-founder Scott Coates. The pair set off on their first adventure together, trekking through South America and conquering the Inca Trail in 1998. Darren continued to travel, making two visits to Thailand where he helped test SA’s first adventures way back in 2000. An avid golfer, mountain biker and die-hard hockey fan, Darren’s big laugh, adventurous spirit, and constant pursuit of fun, makes him a cherished friend to many and core promoter of the SA-spirit. When not designing/tweaking electronic media for SA, he co-owns and operates an internet development company in Calgary, Visua Design Group Inc. He recently tied the knot in PEI with the love of his life, Shaida.
