Smiling Albino – Wat Pho Host

Clearly The Man!
|
Born at the UNESCO World Heritage City of Ayutthaya, Sayan (Lek) moved to Bangkok when he was nine-years-old. His mother sold goods on the sidewalk in front of Wat Pho, Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple, where Lek moved into residence to be close to her, calling it home for 10 years. His interesting surroundings, most-famous for its giant reclining Buddha must have had its allure because when he grew up he decided to work at his former home as a tour guide, where he’s now been leading the way for more than 10 years.
As Wat Pho’s most senior guide and without a doubt the city’s funniest, Lek makes most visitors’ day. His name means ‘small’, but as the ninth child in his family and reportedly the largest, there’s nothing small about him or his personality.
He spends his free time worshiping his longtime girlfriend, playing golf and listening to country music.
