Meet Us
Associate/Inspiration - Highland Farm Owner

Another day at the office
|
Pharanee is the strongest person we know.
Born in Thailand, she worked in America for many years where she met her husband Bill.
They retired in 1991, building a home and reforesting land in the far throws of Tak province, near the Myanmar border. It was during this time they took in one gibbon ape, then two and so on. A quiet retirement turned into Highland Farm and Gibbon Sanctuary, a refuge for injured/abused/abandoned gibbons.
After her husband passed away in 2002, Pharanee kept up their cause and continues to operate Highland Farm.
She has warmly welcomed the Smiling Albino team not only to her Farm, but into her life. She continues to amaze us with her courage, strength and dedication to her ‘kids’ as she calls them, who at last count there were 40 of.
