day 1

To Kanchanaburi & Everything WWII

After an early morning (8AM) pick up from your place in Bangkok, we will drive east to Kanchanaburi for about three hours to reach.

Our first stop will be the Thailand-Burma Railway Center, a museum where you will begin to appreciate the remarkable history surrounding the role of allied POWs in Thailand during World War II. This will be followed by a visit to the nearby War Cemetery so we may pay our respects to the fallen soldiers buried there.

After lunch, continue to fill in the history with a visit to the River Kwai Bridge, a historical bridge built by World War II Prisoners of War and world-famous for the location of the movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai”. If interested, we can also visit the nearby JEATH War museum, known for its massive hoard of memorabilia collections. Then, board our private longtail boat and cruise the River Kwai before checking in the hotel.

The remainder of the day is at leisure.

day 2

The Death Railway & Hellfire Pass

After soaking in much of the story behind WWII history, including the historic railways, there’s nothing better to do than boarding the train ourselves! The iconic train ride follows into the routes paved by the very history that makes the region famous, with beautiful scenic views from the mountainside. We will cap off the morning with a thrilling one hour train ride on the Death Railway, rattling along through the mountainous landscape in true Thai style. Our destination is Tham Krasae Station. Just a short distance away from the station, there is a cave which was formerly a shelter of prisoners of war during the construction of the Thai-Burma Death Railway.

From here, we travel to Hellfire Pass. History will come to life. Hellfire Pass is the site of a series of railway rock cuttings constructed by Allied POWs during World War II which has been transformed into a powerful memorial and outdoor museum. Look through the informative displays at your own pace before hiking down to the Konyu Cutting – the infamous Hellfire Pass. The time is yours to trek as far as you choose along the 3.5 kilometer trail through incredible scenery, passing through cutaway stone passages and over trestle bridges.

Approximately 4PM, our private van will be waiting and you will be brought back to the hotel for your second night in Kanchanaburi.

day 3

Into the Jungle

Today we will immerse ourselves in one of Thailand’s most stunning natural attractions: the seven-tiered Erawan Waterfall. A number of the cascades have enticingly blue natural pools where you can go for a swim if you please. There are some great trails leading up the multi-tiered waterfalls as well, ideal for a brisk morning hike.

After our lunch at the waterfall, this afternoon we’ll take a 1.5 hours transfer to Phutakien Pier for a scenic boat transfer to your floating lodge where you’ll spend the next 2 nights at. The rest of your day will be at leisure to enjoy the tropical jungle or river activities and swimming directly from your floating terrace.

day 4

Leisure at Rafting Lodge

Enjoy your full day at the Jungle Rafts. You may take a walk around Mon Village located right at the back of the lodge, relax at your terrace and have a swim or join the resort’s activities.

Experiences ranging from boat expeditions to canoeing, kayaking, bamboo rafting amongst the nature and traditional dance classes can all be arranged.

day 5

Ancient Ruins & Back to Bangkok

After your breakfast, check out and we will make the journey back to Bangkok. Taking around four hours in total, we will make a road trip out of it and visit some interesting places along the way. One of our favorites is the 13th-century temple ruin of Prasat Muang Singh, once the most western outpost of the mighty Khmer Empire and now set amidst a peaceful and lush surroundings where we can stretch our legs and learn about some ancient history.
We should arrive back in Bangkok not later than 4PM.
