day 1
To Kanchanaburi & Everything WWII
After an early morning (8AM) pick up from your place in Bangkok, we will drive east to Kanchanaburi for about three hours to reach.
Our first stop will be the Thailand-Burma Railway Center, a museum where you will begin to appreciate the remarkable history surrounding the role of allied POWs in Thailand during World War II. This will be followed by a visit to the nearby War Cemetery so we may pay our respects to the fallen soldiers buried there.
After lunch, continue to fill in the history with a visit to the River Kwai Bridge, a historical bridge built by World War II Prisoners of War and world-famous for the location of the movie “The Bridge on the River Kwai”. If interested, we can also visit the nearby JEATH War museum, known for its massive hoard of memorabilia collections. Then, board our private longtail boat and cruise the River Kwai before checking in the hotel.
The remainder of the day is at leisure.
