Answered: Questions About Post-COVID Traveled

11 june 2020

As we all prepare for the light at the end of the tunnel (which is there even though we might not see it so brightly at the moment!), there are many questions that are arising across the world. Even though both ourselves and the local governments don’t have all the answer just yet, we’ve put together a list to help navigate the resumption of travel.

When can guests begin traveling with us again?

At this time there is no information that has been released for any Thailand (or our other destinations) on when they will welcome international guests. Thailand is planning to end its lockdown on 1 July though there has not yet been any news on what that means with regards to international arrivals.We anticipate that the Thai government will be updating more information on international arrivals prior to 1 July, though it likely won’t be too far ahead of that date. As soon as we have any information we will send out an email update. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to be kept up to date.

Will there be restrictions in place upon arrival?

Unfortunately we don’t have any data on this just yet. We anticipate the steps ahead to be:

1. An update on when the country will reopen to international travel, including what countries will be welcomed and when, and;

2. What the entry process and procedures will look like for those guests.

What measures is Smiling Albino putting in place to safeguard guests in the “new normal”?

Smiling Albino has been working alongside other tourism entities in Thailand to implement standard health & safety procedures across the tourism sector, an initiative known as Hygiene Plus, to provide a sense of security for incoming guests. You can read more about that here: Thailand Tourism to get Clean Stamp of Approval.

We also have hand sanitizer with all guides and in transport at all times. Face masks will also be on-hand for the guests. Surfaces are being wiped down regularly, guide and driver temperature checks are being done regularly as well.

What if there’s a second wave? Can I cancel?

Smiling Albino has updated our policies and flexibility around bookings. As the world grips with the uncertainties of the here and now, Smiling Albino is introducing a flexible booking policy to bring confidence to travelers eager to book holidays with reduced risk. Including a reduction in down payment as well as nominal planning fee for cancellations made 61+ days prior to departure and 100% Smiling Albino travel credit for postponements made up to 14 days prior to departure date, we want our guests to feel secure in booking with Smiling Albino and our travel partners.

Still have questions?

This unprecedented time and the “new normal” we’ve all been facing can be difficult to navigate – there’s no doubt about that! Our team is ready and waiting to answer them!
