The heartbeat of Battambang echoes through its streets, adorned with statues depicting mythical creatures and ancient deities that add a touch of whimsy to everyday life. As you wander along the waterfront, you’ll marvel at the early-20th-century French colonial buildings, each whispering tales of a bygone era. Don’t miss the Governor’s Residence, an architectural gem steeped in history and elegance, offering a glimpse into the opulent past of the region.

For art enthusiasts, the Loeum Lorn Gallery is a testament to contemporary Cambodian art, showcasing the innovative use of ice and photography. Embrace the cultural heritage at the National Museum, housing intricate Angkorian artifacts and statues, a testament to the rich history of the region.

WHEN TO GO

Battambang’s climate follows the typical Southeast Asian pattern – warm, wet summers and cooler, dry winters.

Given the rainfall rarely last longer than an hour, there isn’t really a bad time to visit Battambang; however the heat in April & May can be extreme, especially for those doing outdoor activities. As such, we recommend travelling between December & March, when rain is very rare and the temperatures are a little more bearable.
